    Description

    This is a souvenir program from the US Government War Exposition held at the Lake Front in Chicago, IL from September 2 - 15, 1918. Cover illustration by Philip Lyford. The program measures 6.00" x 9.00" with 31 pages. The Allied War Exposition was a World War I exhibit that traveled by special train throughout the United States from 1917 until 1919. This exposition, or exhibit, illustrated trench warfare, weapons, new technologies, medical treatments and other war activities of the Allied Powers. The exhibition also featured captured weapons and equipment from Germany and the Central Powers. It was sponsored by the U.S. Government Committee on Public Information, and traveled to major cities, including Los Angeles, California; Chicago, Illinois; Waco, Texas; and Cleveland and Cincinnati, Ohio. This souvenir program is in good used condition. Pages secured by staples and the staples are rusted. All pages are age-toned/tanned.
