This listing is for the blue enamel Sterno Canned Heat unit shown. 3 pieces - approx. 7" tall assembled and approx. 5.5" wide at the base. Undated. WWI period item.
Sterno Canned Heat Vaporizer was made for the US military to use in the hospitals as a portable form of treatment. They were typically used with Vicks Vaposteam. They would be filled halfway with water and with 1 teaspoon of vicks put over the sterno and positioned in between two beds to help sick patients breath better.
CONDITION
