    Description

A beautiful collectible set of four U.S. postage stamps issued in 1948 to honor Moina Michael.  After reading Col. John Mc Crae's poem, "In Flander's Field", Miss Michael wrote her own poem, "We Shall Keep the Faith" and resolved to always wear red silk poppies as a tribute to those who served in WWI. She began a campaign to always wear red silk poppies as a tribute and support for veterans.
A portrait of Ms. Michael with three memorial poppies is featured on the red stamps.
These stamps have never been used and are as fresh as the day they were sold at the Post Office over 70 years ago!  Suitable for framing, they would make a great gift for anyone who collects military memorabilia!
