WW I American Expeditionary Force Siberia 31st Regiment Trench Art Picture Frame

Description

Unbeknownst to most Americans and left out of most history books, was America’s involvement in WW I and the Russian Revolution. This amazing hand carved piece of trench art dates from that time and place. The picture frame features a soldier in winter gear standing on cobblestones next to the Stars and Stripes. Along the bottom is carved A.E.F. Siberia 1918-1919 which gives us his dates of service. The 31st Regiment banner in the upper right gives us the place, as they were stationed in Vladivostok. It measures just under 8” tall and 5 3/4” wide and just under 1/2” thick. It will hold a picture 5 5/16” tall by 3 3/8” wide. A beautiful little piece from a forgotten part of American history.
Condition
