WWI US Lieutenant Original Personal Item Grouping
This is a grouping collection of a Lieutenant with the 4th U.S. Infantry by the name of R.L. Riling.
It shows movement of his troops into occupied Germany from December 1918.
The primary picture shows the full collection which includes:
Officer bag and strap, named in very good condition
Officers hat cord
Framed picture of unknown mounted officer 13.5 by 10.5"
Large battle map of Germany 43 X 30
French battle map of Germany 28 X 21 shows Unit movement
Letters and news clippings from home
Notes of equipment, rations, horses, wagons, roster of men and casualties
Tough post war trek into Germany, not everyone gave up in November.
